The first of perhaps two Gonzalos is on his way to United: Colombian defender Gonzalo Martinez.
The club has wrapped up negotiations and expects him on the training pitch Monday. Expect a formal announcement soon. (We had been told by a source close to the negotiations yesterday that he would fly to Washington this weekend.)
To recap our earlier reports, Martinez is a 32-year-old central back who spent about three years in Italy before moving to the Paraguayan league. Most recently, he performed for Millonarios in Colombia.
Woo. Bye Bye Vanney, unless you’re willing to play for peanuts.

Spelled Gonzalo wrong.
Don’t know why but I was more excited about Peralta (maybe because he’s in his 20’s?), but he seems to be the least definitive of the targets (exlcluding the Gallardo tease- just watch the mystery MLS team bypasses us all and ends up being RSL).
