Post Game Carnage: The Aftermath

This is being written as a pissed off fan, not too long after the event, so excuse me if I have any half formed thoughts, or expletive laced rantings. The first half was an absolute mess, and Bobby Boswell was to blame for those two goals. Aside from those two minutes of terror, United was playing it close, but they were also not playing like a team that needed to score.
The second half is where this game came to life. Dyachenko provided a spark, and thank god Boswell was taken off for McTavish. But Addlery? This means Kpene is done, point blank. If you are the 4th choice striker, you have no future with this team. I don’t blame Soehn for that choice. Addlery, aside from his pass across the goal mouth to Vanney, which would have been a goal had Olsen just laid down, was useless. This team was deadly on the flanks in the last 20 minutes, and had someone with an ounce of heading ability been in, we’d have scored two more. But Simms’ strike, and Gomez’s goal were awesome. I mean, just game changers.
Now, the thing that will be the most lamented, at least by me. The hand ball call. Clearly, it was a handball, but that ref must have laser vision cause at game speed I didn’t see it. I also was running around my house like an idiot, so, that might have caused that. Either way, disappointing.
Chicago earned it the first 135 minutes. DC deserved it the last 45.
I know we were the regular season champs, but for some reason, tonight, that doesn’t feel so great.
