Tuesday’s Round-up

As the dust settles on the memorable opening night at RFK, D.C. are now preparing to take on the New England Revolution.

Team updates, news, and links below.

The biggest question going into the next match will be how D.C. line-up at the back. After a strong first showing, there will be forced changes for Olsen to deal with. Kitchen has already joined the U-20 national team and Jed Zayner picked up a knock against the Crew. Zayner is still questionable to play against the Revs, and the club will be able to decide his status by Thursday.

As far as I know(I can’t read Bosnian), Boskovic will not be joining up with the Montenegrin national team. His last appearance for his national side was at Wembley Stadium as Montenegro stale-mated England to a 0-0 draw. Boskovic captained his country and went 83 minutes in the game. Montenegro was scheduled to play South Korea, and, I believe, Japan, but obviously due to the recent events in that area the friendlies were canceled. Montenegro is now scheduled to play Uzbekistan, but Boskovic is not in the squad as far as I can find. As most players around the globe were reporting to their respective national teams on Sunday and Boskovic took part in the D.C. reserve game on that same day, it looks unlikely.

Devon McTavish still battles the after effects of a concussion. D.C. fans know how serious of an issue this is. Bryan Namoff was forced to suspend his career for the same reason. D.C.’s next opponent, the Revolution, also saw Taylor Twellman’s playing career cut short by concussions.

Also, D.C. will face Everton and Tim Howard in July. This is the second mid-season friendly the club have announced, the first a May match-up with Ajax.
