The Prodigal Son returns? (Updated)

By: jon | February 25th, 2008

Santino Quaranta returns to DCU on trial.

I don’t have much to say on this, but do any of my readers have any feelings about this? Particularly, if any Brava read this, are you ready to forgive and forget after the crotch grabbing celebration after his team scored against us when he was with LA?

Help DC win some silverware and all will be forgotten. The 2007 season was extremely disappointing. We had a chance to bring home 5 major trophies and didnt win any… So if he is a key to winning one this year then yes… that incident will be forgiven..

If you are counting SuperLiga as a “major trophy” and dismissing the Supporters’ Shield, I don’t even know what to say to you….

I was crushed when Chivas didn’t win the Supporters Shield last season. Holy crap that situation was some serious drama. I definitely have NOT forgotten about that.

It was probably a simple slip up on DC United’s part. We can’t remember everything all the time…

Tino didn’t actually score against us- he just did the crotch grabbing after someone else (Landon I believe) did.

If he’s good enough to make the team, he will, and he’ll play well. Simple as that. If he isn’t good enough to beat Walker, Moose, and Gardner for the Developmental roster spot, even better. Thing is, I’m not so sure he will. I’m indifferent either way.

Is he in shape? Does he want to be there? Neither seemed to be true last year for the Galaxy, and the season went accordingly. Maybe getting cut was the slap he needed.

Pretty sure the goal was actually scored by Alan Gordon.

While I’ve got a hold of you…what do you think about this?

    Young, Brazilian, DCU.

    I’m sold.

I know as little as you, but like you said. I’m a fan of young Brazilians. Particularly, because you can never have enough depth and he’s unlikely to be expensive.
