No, I’m not dead. Yes, I’m serious.
By: jon | February 23rd, 2009My people. What it is? DC United has been going through their preseason, and I have been just livin’ man. Just livin’.
Lots of little tidbits, and I’ll try to remember them all. Of course, if you read the same sites I do, you know all of this stuff.
- DC won its exhibition against the Puerto Rico Islanders, 2-1, off of a Christian Gomez free kick and a long bomb by Clyde Simms (coincidentally, those are the only goals he can score). In net was Nic Platter, a dude I have never heard of before this game. I’m pretty sure he’s on trial from a USL team.
- DC doesn’t get an automatic entrance into the US Open Cup despite being the winners, because they missed the playoffs. So, be ready for that game at RFK in April sometime.
- DC is playing U of Maryland on Sunday at 1pm at College Park. Its free. I’ll be there. Say hello.
- For those who care, via BTB.com….
“No surprise that SeƱor Christian Gomez will reclaim the #10 kit he wore during his first stint with the Black-and-Red.
Chris Pontius will take over #13..
…from Ryan Miller, who opted for #2 this year.
Rodney Wallace will sport #22.
Andrew Jacobson will rock #8.
Finally, Ange N’Silu will become the first player to wear #9 since Freddy Adu’s departure in 2006.”
- The stadium news blew up something huge, and when there is some substantial new news, I’ll post it. Refer to the press conference here….
