Is Two wins a streak? New England Revolution vs DC United preview
By: jon | May 29th, 2008After the come from behind (twice) win at home against Toronto FC this last weekend, DC travels to Foxboro Stadium to take on the first place Revolution (In case you didn’t know, we’re last). NE has won their last three contests, which many would classify as being “hot”. This game is HUGE for DC. If I knew how to increase the size of the font to indicate how important this game is, I would do that.
DC has scored one goal on the road. That obviously needs to change. Below is the good old link dump…
-Goff says that DC is now getting to the hard part of their schedule. With 9 points through 10 games, that looks like a big Uh-oh.
(Some tidbits from the article: Gonzalo Peralta didn’t travel with the team, as his wife is still having issues with childbirth.
Franco Niell didn’t travel with the team, because he sucks. Also, he’s not on the 18 man roster, and will play in the reserve match.
Ryan Cordiero took the retired Jeff Curtin’s senior roster spot. So good for you Ryan! Treat yourself! Buy the super sized meal at Wendy’s this weekend!
-The GOOP (good ol’ official preview) from MLSNET, where you can learn interesting tidbits, like the fact that Abbey Okulaja will be the head official and Kenny Mansally is on international duty for Gambia (actually a good thing, since he’s pretty good).
-Some love for my boy, Tino. He’s still out of place on the wing, but he’s making due.
-The obvious thing to report about would be the stadium rumors. I for one, like the rest of the team and almost all bloggers, will believe it when I see it. But here’s a story.
PREDICTIONS!!!- This IS a road game, and NE IS in first place, but I see a 2-2 draw. At this point, I’ll take it. What say you?

I hate Abbey Okulaja. Worst. Ref. Ever.
That being said, in some sick perverted way, I think his “reffing” the game may actually be to our benefit. Recent form would certainly suggest a decided edge to NE. Okulaja has found ways in the past to screw up a game for BOTH teams. I make the case that a climate of chaos may actually favor the underdog.
I still think it will be painful to watch. I’m working late tonight, so I’ll be watching a late night tape delay, but after I do watch it, I imagine I’ll be coming on here regretting what I just said.
Stadium? Not saying anything until the gold shovel appears.
