Game Thread: DCU 1 NYRB 2 at Half
By: jon | August 10th, 2008Looks like a good, competitive, fiery match. First 20 minutes were all DCU, the next 10 were all NY, and after that it was fairly balanced. The wings have been aggressive, and Fred has been phenomenal. Full of energy and inventive. Best match by him in weeks.
Defense has done well, although has been mostly untested. Emilio isn’t at his best, but is doing well.
Guerrero is a field general, and Vide is providing muscle. Great acquisitions. Hope to see Tino and Peralta next half.
EDIT: I posted this too soon. Defense fell asleep, and NY finished a chance. Wells unable to clear a cross, and Magee puts in the loose ball. Not a good end to to half.

I’ll chalk up the third goal to Burch’s inexperience on turf. He just didn’t know it was going to bounce up that high. Still, you’re not supposed to let the ball bounce if you can avoid it. Should Vide slammed his face into the bar to stop it as it went it? Would it have honestly mad a difference?
So we played two bad league games out of our last three. We choked in our last tourney (even if it WAS the SuperFantasticLeagueofExtraordinayMoneyPlayersNeverSee).
Is it possible that for this year only, New England and United have switched places? Last year all they did was win the Open Cup (meaningless until this year’s changes involving ConCaCaf), while we advanced in the “thingy tourney” and won the Supporter’s Shield. I just hope it’s us who knocks them out of the playoffs. I’d hate to see either CSKA New Jersey OR LooneyHockeyFan FC win a series. (Unless of course it’s at the expense of Sh*tcago.)

I should be upset that we lost to Bulls. Weird enough, I’m not. Let’s kick butt on Tuesday and keep going.
