MLS news on the DC United’s roster preparation for the 07 season.

The team is currently in Mexico in preparation for the Tuesday game against CD Chivas so there is not much to report. Gomez has still not signed an extension to his contract and many folks feel that if he impresses the Mexican League that a big money offer will come from a team in Mexico or the possibility to go and play in the middle east. He has often stated his loyalty to the DC fans and the team but his words were similar to what Fred had promised to the Melbourne fans and teams.
Other news is that soccer specific stadiums are making it very difficult for traveling fans to come and show support for their teams. The Rapids new stadium will not allow any banners bigger than 3×5, which is quite ludicrous and will lead to the boring experience for fans. Some call it the Americanization of the football culture and I hope that the MLS takes some action in regards to some of these silly rules.
