DC (MD) United?

By: jon | October 18th, 2007

Should we all quiver and cry because of the supposed move to Maryland? No. Here’s why.

This is all about putting some pressure on Mayor Fenty. Fenty doesn’t want to appear to be putting sports before the economic interests of Ward 8. Problem? Ward 8, led by the irrepressible, unimprisonable Marion Barry WANTS the new stadium, and the housing and stores to come along with it.

I think in the end, this deal gets done. Money talks, shit walks.

I never understood the second part of that saying.

Point is, MD United will never exist.

Wow. Marion Barry is still around? I remember him from back when I lived in DC ten years ago…
