you are doggin' DCU hard, but at least somebody is holding them to the blade. The team are a bunch of bums... how dare they suck so badly. DCU is the most respected franchise in MLS... or is that in danger or changing?

What if they become like the detroit lions of soccer. Dominate in the early stages professional football in america, and now shrouded in near obscurity.

Yeah, I delayed my month long trip to Ireland a few extra days to catch this game. If life were fair (and we all know it's so very close to that), the boys would see me off with a win. As it stands, I fully expect to get back the day before the Galaxy game to find DC either competing for playoff position or introducing a new coach. Let's face it, if we're not starting to make a respectable climb out of the cellar by the end of June Soehn is gone.

It makes more sense to put in a new regime at the beginning of the transfer period than at the end or afterwards. Not saying I wholeheartedly agree with a new coach, but it's looking more and more possible.

Glad to see that Mateo Peralta was born without incident (other than 29 hours of labor - yikes!!). Now maybe his dad can give his full attention to opposing players. I'm still a fan, but I'm getting tired of defending the guy when he could be playing better. Nice to see him get a goal while things were scary for his wife. Hopefully we see a good result from all this.

Zach Wells - what can you say that hasn't already been said? I guess at this point the best thing that could happen to him would be to get kicked in the face. At least that would mean he was fighting for the ball in traffic, and maybe some blood running down his face would endear him to the fans a little. Here's hoping he manages to make the save when it happens.

Yeah, I've been all over Comcast for the re-airs. I lost my copies of those games in a robbery (they were smart enough to take only the good stuff), so I at least needed to replace them. Couldn't help but disagree with the "Top 5 goals in DC history" yesterday. How they could leave out Etcheverry's GOTY against the Revs in '97 is beyond me. I was also hoping to see Gori's steal off of Hartman. Oh well. At least the background music wasn't wierd or anything.

Off to the emerald isle for several weeks. Maybe I'll drop a line about watching the Euros in an Irish pub wearing DC United gear. Can't wait for "Oh, is that the league Becks is playing in?"

Catch you on the flip side...
