Bobby Boswell to Houston for their backup keeper…
By: jon | December 12th, 2007Having never seen the BACKUP for the MLS Champion Dynamo play, I have no idea how to feel about this.
He better be A) Cheap, B) Good, or C) Trade bait for someone with a proven track record.
Dynamo fans, tell me what you know about Zach Wells?

He’s 50k with at least a year left on his contract and has put in some performances that have impressed people.

Being a Red Bulls fan I have to say that this was a good move for your team especially if Boswell had not been playing well and perkins was on his way out.
Wells played well for us when he had to step in a few years back and even had one really fantastic game against you guys I believe.
He is a good young goalkeeper and has just over a 1.1 GAA in 23 games he has played. So he has been pretty solid.

Wells has been fairly steady though he has had a few communication mishaps with the defense. He could be attributed to lack of game experience managing the back line. Zack has the skills but he doesn’t (presently) seem like Championship caliber. He’ll be a good standin replacement for Perkins but at the very best, it seems he will do little more than replicate Perkins and Rimaldo’s tenure. Put it this way- I think Kinnear knew Wells WAS NOT the keeper to replace Onstad.
