The Shield gets us into the CCC and SuperLiga. An MLS Cup would have been nice, but DC's league champions, so there's not a whole lot to complain about this season. Anyway, I'm just not a big fan of the first-round playoff format. The conference finals and MLS Cup are one-and-done - why not the conference semis too? How is it an advantage to be a higher seed and start a series out with a tough road game? (I have the same complaint about European cup championships that use this format too.) Whatever.
