A short note (and a Gamer)

By: jon | May 23rd, 2008

Anyone watch the San Jose match last night?

All I’ll say is, for a team that has 1/5 the on field talent as DC, that team fights for every ball, and to a man, has more heart than DC has combined.

That, my friends, is sickening.

I have almost no desire to write a preview for tomorrow’s game, but cause I’m a sucker, I probably will tomorrow.  EDIT: …or now.

Here is your link dumping, sarcasm spewing game preview for Saturday night’s “Grudge match” at Estadio RFK between the Molson swigging, TP throwing Toronto FC and the Heartless, Goalphobic DC United.

  • MLSNet’s info dump. Carver basically stated that the same team we saw at BMO will be starting again at RFK.  Good.  If we play like we’re capable, we should score a few.
  • It’s bad when the free paper knows you suck, and uses column inches telling everyone about it.
  • Andrea Canales writes about the struggles of Marcelo Gallardo. I don’t know if I’d lay a lot of the blame at his feet.  Particularly when he’s being hacked to pieces regularly, and we’re not doing too much about it.

And somehow thats it.  And that’s sad.

Predictions: There’s always the matter if I want to be realistic or hopeful in these.  I’m going with realistic.  1-1 draw on a late leaked goal by DC.

Well, if you watched the two previous San Jose games, you certainly would be saying the opposite. I am quite shocked over the turnaround from those guys last night.

I haven’t seen them before, so that was my first exposure.

If it’s any consolation, you have at least one neutral pulling for your bunch.

Why’s that? TFC has given up 1 goal in the last 5 and a half games, and that was a direct freekick on wet field turf.

I’ll be there. I’ll be chanting loudly. I have not lost my love for the team, regardless of its apparent lack of heart. They’re playing like they just got dumped by their long time girlfriend. It’s depressing to watch.

I think I’ll just get as tanked as possible in Lot 8 before kickoff. That’s always a good temporary solution. I’m a very passive drunk, so at least I’ll be mirroring our offense with my behavior.

    colman1860,
i say that, because on paper, DC still trumps TFC everyday of the week. I’m not saying it will happen, but it should. I’m not afraid of TFC’s backline in anyway.
