By: Nando | February 20th, 2007United is in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, for Wednesday’s Champions’ Cup quarterfinal opener against Olimpia, this game will broadcast live on Fox Soccer Channel. You can join many folks in the DC Metro area. Barra Brava will be at Kilroys and theres a few other places that will need to send me swag to promote them (j/k). Lets hope they didnt take Jet Blue down there cause they might miss the game by a few days.

Steve Goff with updates and the latest news on the training and other insider news.
Jay Needham and David Stokes have left the building! Jay Needham has signed a deal with Puerto Rico Islanders who were willing to pay him more than the developmental MLS salary which would have put him just above the poverty line but he would definately qualify for government cheese. Luckily we retain the rights to Jay till December of this year, should he have a spectacular year in the Caribbean. Unfortunately for David Stokes he had about as much luck as he did in Europe. Stokes has signed with another USL team the Carolina Railhawks, which is a rather odd name since Bukowski and illicti drugs come to mind. Anyways, the USL has become quite a developmental league with many players going to Europe and the MLS.

The MLS and rest of the league really needs to restructure the salaries when it comes
to developmental players, it is not a livable wage especially considering that most teams are in major cities except Kansas City.
Here is compilation of DC United goals for 2006 compiled by Talion.
I will indepth notes as well as post game game commentary on the tactics used in the Champions Cup game as well as a review of every player! Actually, probably not because that will be better covered by the so called soccer nerd blogs.

Curious about your source on the Stokes signing with Carolina. I definitely know he’s had talks, but I cannot yet confirm a signing. Do you have a strong source?
Thanks!
