Little Bit Of This, Little Bit Of That

By: jon | March 11th, 2008

-First, and most importantly. I got my 10 tickets to the Galaxy game in June and my three tickets to the game against Harbour View next week. Am I pumped? Yes sir. Can’t wait to scam some Beckham loving preteens out of their parents hard earned money. Capitalism. Yes!

-Secondly, not a lot going on in DCU world. They officially signed Quaranta this week.
Quotes by Santino from Goff after the jump…

He tells me he signed a standard senior roster contract with lots of incentives, such as percentage of games played, assists, etc. His base salary is smaller than in the past, but “It wasn’t about the money; I could have gone somewhere else for more. I just wanted the opportunity to start over and prove myself in D.C.”

Commenting on his recovery from foot surgery and his reemergence after being waived by New York, he said: “It’s been an amazing journey. I have worked so hard to get back. A month ago, I didn’t know what was going to happen. I admit, I was scared.”

Quaranta said his hamstring did, in fact, tigthen up last night and he left the game for precautionary reasons. “Kevin Payne is in the stands, Dave Kasper is in the stands, I’m getting ready to sign a contract, I can’t afford to get hurt now!” he said.

He has also been told that he’ll be included on the 18-man travel roster for next week’s Champions Cup opener at Harbour View.

There are no DCU players on the Olympic team. Kind of sucky, but at least we get to keep all of our players.

Josh Gardner (who scored in the Texas Shootaround Whatever Stupid Tournament) and David Blumer (of the feared Grasshoppers) will not be offered contracts. Sorry, fellas.

-Apparently, DCU travels in Black hawk helicopters or Cadillac Town cars…?

-Ben Olsen’s ankles are not made of adamantium.

And that’s about it. I’m sure I’ll be back here before the game on Wednesday to offer a preview of sorts, and I also have the season preview hanging over my head. I’ll get those done sometime this week. Also, there’s the little matter of the Offside Fifa 2008 tournament to get ready for. Fear me.

Benny’s ankles may not be made of adamantium, but clearly, his beard is.

one can only hope that their femur or spine is as strong as Ben’s beard.

I’m backing you for the FIFA 08 tournament, by the way, since I will not be competing. I’m there in spirit. ;)

I was going to say shame on you for reselling those tickets to my preteen charges…however…if they love Beckham, they deserve it…

now, onto the real reason I am on . . . Jon . . . Moreno just left with his hamstring apparently ginger . . . and Zach Wells looks like he got a knock on the head - has some scar on his cheek. 15 minutes in. Nightmare.

My apologies, Dave, I cannot…however if DC United, FC Barcelona, and Arsenal FC (if all three are present, that is) do not pull through for me, I’ll be prepared to congratulate RBNY.

DC United and Harbor View are both playing well. Niell rules. I love how short he is. It’s kind of cute. hahahaaaaaa
