I’ve just been rendered obsolete…
By: jon | March 29th, 2008Yep. Just as happened to Laurie, the team I cover has decided to enter the world of blogging, with all the advantages of actually being employed by the team you cover. Here’s the link. I won’t be sad if you leave me for the new guy in town. I’ll still be here, doing my thing, but as far as exclusives go, I’ll imagine I won’t be providing them first.

Oh, but while we’re talking about other blogs, did you see this on big soccer? http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/blog.php?b=619
The only reason I mention it is…
“It’s one thing to sew ‘Tradition’ on the collars, but it’s another to understand how that team was built, learn from mistakes of the past, and continue to improve. Jesus, I hate DC United, don’t you?”
HAHAHAHAHAAAAA…doesn’t everyone???
VIVA UNITED!!!

Ahh, cheer up big guy. FC Dallas has had their own team blog for a while now but I still love to read Robert’s blog just for his insights…I’m sure your readers will be the same.

Yeah those official bloge are official but they have NO PERSONALITY. Boring. The Offside = snark and awesome nicknames (baby drogba? brillz)

I agree with Melissa . . . I house the Red Bulls official blog “RedBullsReader” . . .

Yeah absolutely – credit where credit is due. And you totally said it on The Offside! Not the official blog with all it’s officialness.

I meant “the offside”, but okay…I would insert an “lol” here but I can’t bring myself to laugh as Barca have slipped into third and my heart will be fully broken if DC lose tonight…

I have discovered that the official blogs must remain snark-free and optimistic. We have no such obligation. I find that most people visit the official blog to get the news, then visit my site to get the snark on the news. There will always be a market for what we do.

I burn the KC Wizards official blog. Kind of like how the Wizards burned you yesterday. Oh snap!

you can’t quite “burn” a team if they don’t play their starters and they have an international tournament coming up in two days that you didn’t qualify for that they think is more important than your game with them. oh snap!

The new blog is going to suck. Don’t leave us fearless leader.
How else will we know about the more ridiculous (and real) side of the DC united team events?

Whew. You had me worried. Visions of you curled into a fetal position with a fifth spilled on the floor beside you…
Seriously, though, I really thought the official Galaxy blog would cut into my pageviews. It didn’t at all. People go there, and then stop by to see what I have to say about what they have to say. I think you’ll find the same.
